Come on out and see all that we have for your fall gardens:

Trees and Shrubs!

Fall is the best time to plant trees and shrubs, and each year we continue to add to our extensive selection. From unique ornamentals and beneficial natives, to screening evergreens and fruits of all kinds, we have an amazing selection this fall - far surpassing previous years in quantity as well as diversity of options! We are especially excited about our native shrub and tree options, grown here at Painters or sourced from our terrific local partners.

Fall Annuals

As we head into fall and your favorite summer blooms begin to fade, it is time to start thinking about cool weather plants for your garden - especially considering that fall seems to be coming early this year! We've grown a beautiful selection of Belgium Mums in assorted fall colors, as well as a veritable rainbow of pansies and violas (we grew some amazing cultivars this year!).

Bulbs

Bulbs are so easy! You're sending your future self a little garden present that will pop up just when you need it after the cold winter months: alliums, snowdrops, hyacinths, bluebells, crocuses, and endless tulips and daffodils! (Note: bulbs at Painters arrive the second week of our fall season. You have plenty of time to plant them, but not much time to get them! They go very fast!)

Garden Tools and Supplies

We are excited to carry some of our favorite garden tools that we use ourselves, including Foxgloves gardening gloves and hats, Spearhead Spades, Dramm watering tools and more. Find our favorite local products: seed packets from Sow True Seed and worm castings from Life Cycle Organics out of Franklin, NC. And don't forget to start your garden off right with bagged soil, mulch, and amendments, including the blend we grow with!

Fall Perennials

Incorporating fall perennials into your landscape will help you maintain texture and color in your garden throughout the year and provide critical food and shelter for wildlife. This fall at Painters we will have grasses, heuchera, ferns and some of our favorite fall bloomers such as hardy mums, asters, Toad Lilies, and more!  Lots of natives too!

Fall Veggies & Herbs

Bountiful harvests do not have to end when summer does!  We will offer a selection of fall veggie starts sown on site including onions, cabbage, kohlrabi, and broccoli, and many fall-friendly greens including collards, mustards, kales, and lettuces.  We will also have an assortment of herbs for your fall gardens.

Pottery & Garden Art

You will find a wide selection of indoor and outdoor pottery in an array of sizes, shapes, colors, and finishes. From quirky houseplant pots to giant outdoor statement pieces. Plus beautiful locally made concrete garden art from Mayse Manufacturing.

Houseplants

We are proud to offer a wide selection of unique, collectable, and mature houseplants and succulents at Painters. Find a great range of options at affordable prices.
