Painters Greenhouse in Old Fort, North Carolina, is a seasonal nursery and greenhouse operation that is open to the public March 1 through July 1. For 38 years Painters Greenhouse has supplied Western North Carolina with the finest quality affordable flower and vegetable bedding plants, herbs, perennial potted plants, tropicals, hanging baskets, shrubs and more.

We want to thank all the loyal customers who made our first season as the new owners a success! We made a lot of new friends and have taken your suggestions for additions and improvements to heart. We were thrilled that our new natives program was so popular, as well as our additonal varieties of aquatics, vegetable and herb starts, shrubs and trees. The new outdoor checkout that Brad built was also quite a success - the most popular improvement to the grounds and a much-appreciated reprieve from the hot greenhouse for both customers and employees!

In 2012 we will increase our selection with a number of new plants, shrubs and trees not previously available, and we hope to make our events even more interesting and family friendly. We want to make Painters not only a place to shop for plants, but also a destination for family outings, and a place where old friends meet to celebrate life and the joys of gardening. The economy is still struggling, but one thing remains a constant joy in our lives - the plants we can all grow. We are fortunate to live in an area where even in the hardest of times, we can still easily grow healthy, tasty food for little cost. We will be opening the 2012 season March 1, and for those of you who have never been to Painters, rest assured you will not be disappointed! We have big plans for the future, and most importantly, we will continue to provide the best selection and lowest prices for quality plants!

We are an easy 35 minute drive from Asheville, Morganton or Lake Lure, and about 20 minutes from Marion and Black Mountain, so come visit us!
